Snowboard! =)

This weekend was a blast! Yesterday, we had a great time bowling in a Saturday afternoon. In the evening, we enjoyed the Wii Fit. It was really fun. It had aerobics games, training plus, etc. They had this skii jump, snowball fight, skateboarding, boxing, segway, super hulla hoop, and lots more.

Today, we had a great time doing the skii, snowboard, and snow tubing in Perfect North in Indiana, a two-hour drive from Lexington. At first, we were kind of finding it hard to do the skii. After a few lessons from the instructors, we got the hang of it. It was really fun. You'll have to form a wedge to make your skiing more stable, bend forward, hands in front like holding a coffee tray, poles behind you. After grabbing some sandwich for lunch, we skiied a little more, then we tried the snowboard. It was harder than I thought. I was thinking it would be easier because I know how to skateboard but it was different. A few tries later, I was gliding through some slopes. Not bad for a first time. Next time, I want to try those amazing jumps. For now, I'll have to rest my sore legs.

And as of this writing, Endeavor space shuttle is landing at Kennedy Space Center. I'm watching it live in CNN. The space shuttle has just concluded a two-week mission to the International Space Station. Something you don't see everyday...

US 2006

Photobucket

It was early winter of 2006 when our team at work were sent to Lexington, Kentucky for training. For most of us, it was our first time to be there, and all were excited! And it was snowing! We already had our interstates plan before even landing in the US. I had first felt how it was like in the US when we landed in L.A. It was winter so I was amazed how cold it was to be outside. Ah, just like a big air condition was turned up a notch. Anyways, we spent 8 weeks in training in our headquarters in Lexington, KY, and a lot of interstates including Chicago IL, Dayton OH, and Gatlinburg TN. We got to visit a lot of places including the Lake Michigan, a vast lake almost the size of West Virginia state.

We were housed in The Marriott's Residence Inn. The place is quite nice.

And since we were about to go to different places, I had to get my hands on one good digicam. This is when I bought my Canon Powershot A610 on Jan. 31, 2006, which until now is alive and kicking. This has been to lots of places that I've been, snapping all these photos all along. I got this from Circuit City for about $300 then. These days, camera specs are ramping up while their prices are plunging. Someday this A610 will reach retirement age and will need to get myself one of those bulldog cameras. :)

On our first weekend, we went to the Air Force Museum in Dayton, Ohio.

We also visited Jeffersonville, KY on the following day. This is when I was introduced to a hobby called “shopping”. Factory outlets crowd the place, such as Nike, Adidas, Fossil, Vanity Fair where Jansport bags are on sale, and the list goes on.

A few days after, we visited one of the busiest states, Chicago. The place was just how I imagined US to be -- tall buildings. And speaking of that, we visited the second tallest building in the world then, the Sears Tower.

Septuplets! =)

Yes, seven! On January 12, 2010, I was able to pick up seven stuff toys from the Dream Catcher, more than I expected. That was really fun and thrilling. Meet the rest of the gang! =) I gave them to my gä. Hmmm, I think we'll have to name them soon. Heheh. This stuff toy family is getting bigger! =)

Here's some more I got for the week -- lone fat bear, then a tiger, pink cat, and a skinny bear.

Triplets! =)

I have never won a prize from the Timezone Dream Catcher before, the one where a robotic arm picks up a doll and drops it into the hole. I tried it before but it seemed impossible. But some people were pretty good at it. Persistent, I wanted to get my first one and give it to my gä. I saw this Hello Kitty lying at the top of the other dolls, seemingly waiting for me. I didn't get it the first time. I tried again, and again. I tried once more by moving the arm sideways and stop when the arm becomes aligned with the pivot point and the doll. I looked at the view from the side and stopped until it's right on top of the it. Released the button, hopeful that this is going to be it! And..... what do you know. I got it! It was really fun. I showed it to my friends. I never knew that simple game could get you so thrilled. Whew! Hmmm. There was another Hello Kitty on the other side. I gave it a shot, and I got another one! Twins! It was my day, getting two prizes that are exactly the same. Just few inches from it is another Hello Kitty. I thought I have to get 3 for my gä. Patiently, I moved the arm right on top of it. As the robotic hand slowly clamps the doll, I was really hopeful. It picked it up! I celebrated but it was premature. When it dropped the prize into the hole, it hit the edge and bounced back to the other dolls. I had to try once more, I badly needed to have 3 Hello Kitties! Immediately after that, my attempt was successful. I got it! Yey! First time, 3 dolls, exactly the same! Say hi to the Hello Kitty Triplets! My gä was happy to receive it.
